Experience
I qualified in the UK as an Osteopath in 2000 and I have been working within the Uk since then in a number of clinics in Surrey until moving to Sneem in March 2020.
Pole Vault
I used to be an International standard pole vaulter competing for the Republic of Ireland. I was lucky enough to hold the Irish National pole vault record for a number of years and won a couple of National titles. As an athlete I found that Osteopathic treatment seemed to work better for me and my initial interest in Osteopathy was formed. I am an ACSM Exercise Physiologist and UK Athletics Jumps Coach.
Fire Service
Prior to working as an Osteopath I worked as a Firefighter in the UK in Surrey. I completed my 5 year Osteopathic training and spent my last two years working as the Fire Service Health and Fitness Advisor. In this role I ran the rehabilitation, physical training and testing programmes.
Osteopath
I have previously lectured and examined Osteopathic students at two Osteopathic colleges and have lectured for the Osteopathic Sports Care Association.
I have many years experience working with elite young athletes. I spent 5 years treating club and International standard gymnasts from Heathrow Gymnastics Club. As well as treating junior International standard track and field athletes.
London 2012 Olympics
I was a member of the Osteopathic Team working as part of the Physical Therapies Team at the Polyclinic in the Athletes Village. There I treated a number of athletes who went on to make finals and win Olympic medals.
2017 IAAF World Athletics
I was a member of the Physical Therapies team that worked at the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships. Treating athletes at the warm-up track pre and post training and competition. Again I treated athletes that went on to medal.
Lead by example
I am an advocate of "practice what you preach" and enjoy getting out walking, running and cycling. I exercise 6 days a week and cycle regularly. I have completed all the Ride London 100 Sportive events. I particularly likes getting out in the mountains and enjoy paragliding when I can.
